چکیده

Abstract We describe examples showing the sharpness of Fujita’s conjecture on adjoint bundles also in general type case, and use these to formulate related bold conjectures pluricanonical maps varieties type.

On Pluricanonical Maps for Threefolds of General Type, Ii

This paper is a continuation of [4, 9, 13]. To classify algebraic varieties is one of the goals in algebraic geometry. One way to study a given variety is to understand the behavior of its pluricanonical maps. The objects concerned here are complex projective 3-folds of general type over C. Let X be such an object and denote by φm the m-th pluricanonical map of X , which is the rational map ass...

Lang Maps and Harris’s Conjecture Preliminary Version

We work over fields of characteristic 0. Let X be a variety of general type defined over a number field K. A well known conjecture of S. Lang [L] states that the set of rational points X(K) is not Zariski dense in X. As noted in [א], this implies that if X is a variety which only dominates a variety of general type then X(K) is still not dense in X. J. Harris proposed a way to quantify this sit...

On direct images of pluricanonical bundles

We show that techniques inspired by Kollár and Viehweg’s study of weak positivity, combined with vanishing for log-canonical pairs, lead to new generation and vanishing results for direct images of pluricanonical bundles. We formulate the strongest such results as Fujita conjecture-type statements, which are then shown to govern a range of fundamental properties of direct images of pluricanonic...

Ju n 20 05 Fujita ’ s very ampleness conjecture for singular toric varieties

We present a self-contained combinatorial approach to Fujita’s conjectures in the toric case. Our main new result is a generalization of Fujita’s very ampleness conjecture for toric varieties with arbitrary singularities. In an appendix, we use similar methods to give a new proof of an analogous toric generalization of Fujita’s freeness conjecture due to Fujino.
